During the time of 1943-1944 at a War time. He left the South to Chicago.
With a depress of POst War he convey the meaning to the song;he got his first hit in 1955 called "You Don't Have To Go."

You Guys notice on the sentence that You got me peepin'...It sounds like the band played a march. I can imagin through the soldiers marched well.
From then on,Jimmy Reed spent his recreational time with a friend named Willie Joe Duncan, who played the one-string guitar,He also re-established contact with Eddie Taylor. The two played together; Jimmy Reed on guitar, harp, and vocals, and Taylor on guitar.
There are much more songs of his, Anyhow,I'd suppose to be try to get his CD's and Lean more how to improve my conception of Music Appreciations to Blues more that enough, as one has in mind; Jimmy Reed,,'Legend of Rhythm and Blues musician.'

Even the Primemister of Japan knows the words to the Jimmy Reed songs, that Elvis sang. In fact, as I was reading your lyrics, I was singing them in my mine just like Elvis
If you could get Elvis to sing your song, you would make Royalties for the rest of your life. "You got me running, ... ." But Elvis's manager made everyone, give up 50% of their royalties to Elvis. Dolly Parton told him, "No Way Jose!" He wanted to sing her "And I will always love you." Little Miss Dolly blew Elvis away when Whitney Houston did it.
Blues comes from the word blue, which in English, over here, it means you are feeling bad, down and out, nothing to look forward to.
You know, think about what you learned about the African Americans and the Plantation owners after the war. Blacks were free, but to do what. Some of these Blues Songs, date back to 40 or 50 years after the Civil War, so these songs got them through the bad times.
Marty Robbins was a huge, Blues singer. On one of his BLues songs, a tube went out of the ampliphier and it made the guitar licks sound dirty, and not bright. Hey, that's cool. So they cut it as was, and a whole new different way to make a sound out of your electric guitar became "Mainstream," and that was just back in the middle 50s.__But Elvis helped every black Blues Player in the South and along the Delta, to stand up and get noticed. His, "Ain't Nothing But a Hound Dog," is nothing more than a simple Blues song, played fast, with dirty, electronic sounds added.
So, without Elvis, us "White folks" wouldn't have become acquainted with THE BLUES, as a genre of music, until, 1962, when Ray Charles decided to do a Blues Country ALbum called, ... hmm, can't remember it. Tah dah. Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music by Ray Charles.
I have that album. Bought it in the 60s. I think my son, Darrin has it now. It's vinyl and analog, but it's great. Darrin likes Vinyl better than CD.
Great blog. You listen to Jimmy Reed, your listening to Elvis. Elvis won 2 Grammies for his Gospel Music. At the heart of every Black Bluesman is Gospel Music. Believe me on that one Deer.. I love to read you writing._
Papa Dale
halo Papa Dale,Welcome Again!!
Did Elvis play a role in that case?
You know,I love his only one song that is Love me TenDer,Apart from that i prefer Cliff Richard.
But Actually, Jimmy Reed might be an initial Blues MaZter!Or else, I probably hate Elvis, don't I?

Don't judge Elvis on that one song. In his later years, he did some pretty heavy stuff. He sang a Mac Davis song. See if you can find it on the Net. And he sang an Eddie Rabbit song, that blew everybody away. "Love Me Tender" was actually a part of an Italian opera song.
Elvis became quite tired of singing his early teen stuff. He wanted songs that had more "meat" on them. Mac Davis's song, ... do you want me to give you the name? I will, if you promise to copy the words onto this blog. There are not many other hits on this one, so go for it.
Mac Davis wrote, "In the Ghetto," especially for Elvis. Now, I'm not giving you the name of Eddie Rabbit's song that put Rabbit on the road.
Doing a great job.
Hang in there.
